Shopping
The time is finally approaching where I shall be closing my ebay shop, Glass Tales 2007 and considering moving over to selling from my website. However, nothing could replace the wonderful experience of selling at fairs and this will remain my priority. I get an incredible amount of pleasure from meeting and chatting to people, sharing creative ideas or pondering over lampworking experiences...
My main concern about selling from my website (and previously on ebay) is that a customer cannot fully appreciate what they're buying; there's always the possibility that once they receive their purchase, it may not match their interpretation from my photographs. A lot of thought and time is taken over my photography, to ensure as accurate a representation of my beads as possible. I think that it's the potential to disappoint someone that I am fearful of. That's why, for me, bead fairs are the best - you can see what you're buying and you buy what you like. In any case, for my website sales, I will continue to offer a no-hassle guarantee. Fortunately for me, to date, no-one has returned their purchases.
So, while I prepare my webshop, I do hope to see you at one of the many craft fairs around this beautiful country (see my Events page)!
In addition to my bead fairs, I now have a beautiful display cabinet as a result of my participation in Surrey Artists Open Studios 2008. I therefore plan to have a small selection of my work on display in my studio, for those of you who may be able to take the time to visit me there. But do let me know if you are coming, so I can bring more sets in for you to browse through at your leisure.
